The Situation

Califia Farms provides plant-based beverages, creamers, yogurts to improve the world’s food system and bring plant-based living to the forefront of health and wellness. Califia was an immediate success at Target, needing a partner to help capitalize on initial momentum and drive innovation in the category.

1. Operations

Given Califia’s initial momentum, an air-tight supply chain was key as the brand looked to scale its business. Additionally, with a constantly-growing assortment, inventory management and demand planning proved invaluable in building an even stronger relationship between Califia and Target.

With strong brands and great partners, the glass is always half-full.

2. STRATEGY

Califia prioritizes both its core products and innovation pipeline to grow sales both vertically and laterally across its assortment. While loyal customers will know where to find your products or are even willing to seek them out in-store, visibility is key in showcasing innovation.

To achieve visibility for both top products and newer items, we worked diligently with Target to win a branded endcap display. The endcap highlighted the brand’s full portfolio nationwide, prominently featuring Califia’s assortment across more than 1,500 stores across the nation.

Target named Califia one of the retailer’s Vendor Partners of Excellence in 2018.

Since the outset of our relationship in 2017, we’ve helped Califia triple its sales at Target. We are slated to double its business year-over-year in 2019.

Today, Califia is thriving as an anchor brand in the plant-based set, leading across multiple product categories.
